Excellent condition and a really nice playing Bach bass trumpet. This is a special instrumentation adopted and perfected by the Philip Jones Brass Ensemble. In this collection, we have an Eb alto, Bb tenor and Eb bass. The horn is capable of broad range; making for a very versatile instrument. There are so many different pipes you blow through, but it doesn't take long togged noise out of it! Very cheap instruments strongly suspected to be produced in China or India, although they are claimed to be made by "German/Italian/French Engineering" (to the best of my knowledge, there are no reputable manufacturers of that name in either the US, France, Italy or Germany).

Horns are available tuned in F and/or B-flat. B-flat horns are easier to play (particularly in the higher register) but can't produce the bottom notes. Most people spend 99% of the time playing B-flat, but if you have to play the lower horn parts in orchestras then you need the F. But to return to the legitimate theme of this paper. Prior to the introduction of the trombone at Bethlehem, its place in the realm of her music was occupied by the French-horn, ("das Waldhorn, sattsam bekannt, " writes the above quoted Wolfgang Caspar Printz, " so wohl was Kirchen- als Kammermusik anlangt ") and the trumpet-die Trompete http://stevenw.net/ebooks/symphony-no-2-op-52-part-ii-lobegesang-complete-nos-2-10-trombone-2-part-a-2660. It is quite common to see a brass trombone in a professional symphony or jazz band since its lower register provides a deep, dramatic sound that beautifully coordinates with the other instruments. In an orchestra, the brass trombonist is normally the third or fourth seat behind the tenor in the trombone section. Not only for big bands or orchestras, brass trombones can also be heard in jazz bands, classical, rock and R&B download. In good used condition, some wear and minor dings in the slide crook. These early instruments were known to have been used to accompany church music, and to have played parts in bands, though parts for these instruments were rarely scored. The evidence suggests that the players of these instruments read from parts that, though not written specifically for these instruments (or any other), were nevertheless intended to be part of the performance practice of the day , e.g. http://lernbild.de/lib/raymonda-op-57-suite-op-57-a-trombone-2-part-qty-2-a-1477.
