The local cats took that sound and put it together with the music they heard in churches and the music they heard in barrooms, and they blew a new music, a wild, jubilant music. In the 1980s and 1990s, blues publications such as Living Blues and Blues Revue began to be distributed, major cities began forming blues societies, outdoor blues festivals became more common, and more nightclubs and venues for blues emerged.

Read Bruce Miller's review and listen to some of the music. Michael Stone listens to three recordings that compose, improvise and incorporate strains of Indian music into unique contemporary jazz and blues, in works by Los Angeles' Arohi Ensemble, Toronto's Avataar, and the England-based trio Michael Messer's Mitra http://nickel-titanium.com/lib/new-orleans-jazz-a-family-album. Some songs are folk, some world (Indian), some pop, some jazz, a little infusion of Canterbury style, a lot of instrumental, several with pleasant vocals. I found myself thinking of Roy Harper's Stormcock throughout my first listen to this material. Successive listens have slowly revealed the surprisingly wide diversitty in sounds and styles covered on this album--though throughout Gadi's electric guitar sound choices are always unusually clear, crisp, and concise--kind of like those of Roy Buchanan or Blue 'yster Cult's "Buck Dharma" Roeser in the 1970s. 1. "Hemavati" (3:42) is a wonderful horn-backed soft rock instrumental with beautiful, sensitive guitar play performing the lead in a way that is, to me, reminiscent of blues legend Roy Buchanan. (9/10) 2. "Island" (5:33) is a gorgeous little folk song in the style of 1990s STEVEN WILSON/ PORCUPINE TREE--one that makes you appreciate more the genius of SW in that time period. (9/10) 3. "Good Afternoon" (2:25) the only song on the album that I don't absolutely love, it's more in an acoustic blues style though quite reminiscent of some of HARRY NILSSON's songs, it continues to dsiplay Gadi's extraordinary skills in vocal arrangements, lead guitar play, and production. (7/10) 4. "Vivadi Swara" (5:39) opens as a pure ROY BUCHANAN song with acoustic guitar and synth providing sparse background support for the sensitive lead electric guitar work http://nickel-titanium.com/lib/miss-shirley-bassey.

A bullet is cheaper and not only solves your problem, but everyone else’s around you! It is true Robyn that “country folks and urban folks tend to be seen as poor and low class by closed minded individuals”. I’m sure there are people that can’t understand why rather than move to a cracker box sized house or condo in the city where I would be so close to my neighbors I could hear them breathing, I chose the ‘low class’ life and solace of a home in the country on two acres of land that this poor country boy paid cash for , cited: http://nickel-titanium.com/lib/jazz-guitar-lines-of-the-greats. Although he had been a member of several ground breaking bands in the '70's, British guitarist Allan Holdsworth did not become a prominent force in jazz-rock until the release in 1982 of his second solo album entitled I. The two made history and astounded audiences with their slyly worked out duet breaks, and Armstrong had a chance to cut his musical teeth by freely improvising melodic counterpoint to Oliver’s lead cornet. More important still, Oliver’s band was able to forge a remarkably unified and disciplined style, integrating at a very high level the players’ collective and individual instrumental skills, all couched in an irresistible, wonderfully stately, rolling momentum http://marchformoms.org/library/bebop-jazz-piano-hal-leonard-keyboard-style-series.
