Though the reformers were concerned with ecclesiology (the doctrine of how the church as a body works), they had a different understanding of the process in which truths in scripture were applied to life of believers, compared to the Catholics' idea that certain people within the church, or ideas that were old enough, had a special status in giving understanding of the text. Where doctrines and theological beliefs may differ between charismatic Presbyterians, Anglicans, Baptists, Pentecostals and Roman Catholics, so long as they can all speak of having had the same experience of the Holy Spirit then they can worship together and regard one another as fellow believers in Christ.

It is highly important also that the church today understands what the Scripture means when it exhorts the Christian to be filled with the Spirit and when it speaks of men full of the Spirit , cited: http://nickel-titanium.com/lib/american-first-fruits. Despite their humble beginnings in relatively small revival meetings, denominational Pentecostals have grown to what accounts for the largest Protestant group on the world scene in the 21st century. Pentecostal and charismatic missiologists are quick to assert that virtually all new Christian believers in the world today can be classified as either charismatic or Pentecostal, driving the worldwide number of Pentecostals and charismatics in Protestant denominations to well over 500 million. — Phil Duncan and Brian R http://go-science.ru/?lib/aimee-semple-mc-pherson-and-the-making-of-modern-pentecostalism-1890-1926. Nevertheless, we believe that the particular gifts, given to particular people in order to perform these signs, are less prominent in today’s church, perhaps partially due to the completed New Testament revelation , cited: http://fgnuernberg.de/freebooks/spirit-filled-life-bible-for-students-growing-in-the-power-of-the-word.

It is interesting to note that the medical community in the United States has begun considering the importance of spiritual care of the sick. Nearly all medical schools include a course on spiritual healing in which the students are encouraged to look beyond current medical treatment. S. is estimated to be more than 20 million including approximately 918,000 (4%) of the Hispanic-American population, counting all unaffiliated congregations, although the numbers are uncertain, in part because some tenets of Pentecostalism are held by members of non-Pentecostal denominations in what has been called the charismatic movement ref.: http://fredyutama.com/ebooks/ministering-to-abortions-aftermath. The Scriptures show that only the Apostles were able to transmit the Holy Spirit by means of the “laying on of hands.” We do not see anyone else transmitting the gift. Probably the Quietist movement also produced such fruits. The movements are good insofar as they are in possession of authentically Catholic elements, and what is valid within it are invariably the "proper gifts" of the Church, as "things which she can never lose", as is clearly stated in Lumen Gentium , cited: http://schoolbustobaja.com/?freebooks/what-on-earth-is-glory-a-practical-approach-to-a-glory-filled-life.
