Bob Marley, who brought Reggae into the mainstream is probably the most known of all the Reggae artists. The basic building blocks of Math Rock can be traced back to the late 60's and 70's where Progressive Rock artists were making more elaborate compositions than the standard rock bands and were experimenting with song structures. This was before the rave times, so there wasn't even really a chill-out scene yet. The first "Jazz" record "Livery Stable Blues", coupled with "Dixie Jass Band One Step" was made in 1917 by a White band from New Orleans called The Original Dixieland Jazz Band.

Of course the 'southern strategy" was indeed a winning strategy for Nixon. I guess people rather go with what is mainstream, rather than what's actually good. Influence on Jazz: Ahmad Jamal’s sound was clean and trimmed, yet his use of space was complex and profound. This is OUR music and if we actually care about it, lets start with ourselves and give it the props that it deserves. This heavy approach to the traditional blues sound gave rise to much experimentation into the limits to which an instrument could be pushed before bursting into flames.

In America, these slaves learned to play European instruments like the violin and incorporated them in their style of playing. Until about 1700, the old modes still exerted themselves from time to time by colouring certain melodic lines or chord progressions, but from the beginning of the 18th century the modern harmonic system based upon the major and minor scales was effectively pan-European. The responsibility for the psych/space, indo/raga, krautrock and prog electronic subgenres is taken by the PSIKE team, The term post-rock was coined by Simon Reynolds in issue 123 of The Wire (May 1994) to describe a sort of music "using rock instrumentation for non-rock purposes, using guitars as facilitators of timbres and textures rather than riffs and powerchords."
